after talking about it for weeks, mark rounded up a bunch of people and we drove up to boom city the night before the 4th.  they have quite the setup behind the tulalip casino with over 120 firworks stands and a big field for lighting.  the guys had a great time bargaining with the stands and $300+ later we were standing in the war zone lighting off artilery shells and huge “cakes”.  at first it was very nerve racking standing 15-20 feet away from other groups who were lighting off huge fireworks that could ultimately blow up in your face.  but after an hour, it was almost too comfortable as we stood there lighting things off!  :)

on the 4th we took it easy and grilled up steaks and drank martinis in the backyard.  kim & joe came over and we lit off the sparklers we didn’t get to from boom city.  little did we know (until the next day), bernhard was having his own run in with fireworks at another party that ended at the emergency room with second degree burns.  yikes!
